The trouble with much of the self-help and mind-body-soul material available is that is seems to provide answers whilst in fact just filling our heads with yet more dubious facts and theories. Below are a few other questions that don't belong in any of the above FAQ but which give a bit more background to my take on things in a way thats hopefully free from meaningless jargon:

Balance

You don't need to have your chakras done to re-balanced your energies. You don't need to learn some complex (or painful!) set of exercises to balance your muscles. You don't need to listen to a psychologist analyse your subconscious to restore mental balance. These things might help, but none of them on their own would be sufficient to make your life happy and pain-free.

What, in my experience, you do need to feel balanced, is to be able to listen to your body and higher self and to act accordingly: to get the right balance of work, rest and play; to find your personal balance (over the course of a day, week, month or year) between time alone, time with nature, time with family, time sharing with others generally, etc.

Whatever any book or therapist might say, feeling out of balance . . . and the unhappiness and illness that that causes . . . can only be corrected by getting our lives back into balance . . . in what we do and how we think. Anything else anybody else says is just . . . NAB.
